POT, POT-CUM-PTFE Bearings
Aproved By: MORTH & RDSO
A bearing consisting of a metal piston supported by a disc of unreinforced elastomer that is confined within a metal cylinder for allowing rotational movement about any axis in horizonal plane and to bear and transmit vertical load. Pot bearing may be provided with sliding assembly (with or without restraint in the form of guide along a desired direction to bear and transmit horizontal force) comprising of stainless steel plate attached to metal backing plate sliding in horizontal plane over PTFE confined in recess (s) in the piston which shall be termed as Pot-cum-PTFE bearings. Depending on the desired degree of freedom Pot bearings may be of three types as follows:
  1. Fixed Pot Bearing
  2. Free Sliding POT/PTFE Bearing
  3. Guided POT/PTFE Bearing
In House Design, manufacturing & Testing as per IRC:83 (PART III) -2002 & RDSO specification.
Fixed Type Pot Bearing
A type of Pot bearing which alongwith vertical load, and transmits horizontal force in any direction and allows rotation anout any axis in horizontal plane without permitting any movement in horizontal plane.

Free Sliding type Pot-cum PTFE bearing:
A type of Pot bearing which bears and transmits vertical load and allows movement in any accommodates rotation about any axis in horizontal plane.

Guided Sliding type POT-cum-PTFE bearing
A type of Pot bearing which alongwith vertical load, bears and transmit horizontal force in one direction only and allows movement perpendicular to that direction and allows rotation about any axis in horizontal plane.

Test Frame Installed
For Compression, Shear, Ultimate, Friction & Rotation test for Elastomeric (Neoprene), POT, POT PTFE Bearings having capacities 250 / 500 / 800 / 1000 / 1600 / 2000 MT.
